In this post, Hershael York notes, “The temptation of insularity looms large in pastoral ministry. To preach from an ivory tower, where sermons are crafted in isolation, detached from the lived realities of the congregation, might even be the secret desire of some pastors. They think ministry is about delivering solid theology or accurate exegesis, so they plot and plan to be left alone to do that.”

Awaken Your Hunger

This helpful post is a good reminder about what our habits will awaken and they are what we feed upon.

Have You Counted the Cost?

On counting the cost, Casey McCall writes, “However it plays out in the unique circumstances of your life, the universal call applies equally to all. You must have no allegiance higher than your allegiance to Jesus, you must willingly sacrifice yourself in love for God and others, and you must joyfully acknowledge God’s ownership of all your possessions.”
